Will El Nino have any effect on offshore drilling?

I doubt it, not that I am particularly knowledgeable about
offshore drilling. My guess is that the only type of weather
that impacts offshore drilling is tropical cyclones, and
they are actually suppressed in the Atlantic basin in El
Nino years, according to Prof. Bill Gray (a statistical
hurricane forecaster).

El Nino does correlate with cooler and wetter weather
in the winter for the Gulf Coast, however.
