You'd have to be nuts to record directly on a removable if you have a fixed drive as an option. I have an E-Mu Sampler, and I use a SyJet to back up. My next purchase will be a Roland VS-880. I will stuff it with the biggest fixed hard drive it can handle to actually record the music- and use my SyJet as a backup only. I have had several friends in this business who have had disastors using Jaz drives.
