WIND has no ability to drive the set-top market; only NCI can. It's going to be an uphill battle. But WIND shouldn't put too much attention on this. Like I said, this is NCI's work, not WIND's. The only way for WIND to survive is for it to focus on the deeply embedded market and its current customer base. There are too many big players in the consumer market with huge leads for WIND to compete directly.

Rather than setting CE as its enemy, WIND should focus on killing ISI, or maybe, merge with ISI. WIND needs to grow BIG, and grow big FAST. There is no better way than a WIND/ISI merger. This will guarantee WIND/ISI the control of the mission critical deeply embedded market. Then go after the CE with its partners for a strategic consumer appliance market, but not the whole consumer market. Only Microsoft has the power to do that. If WIND can find a soft spot in the consumer market, it can use it as its launching pad in to the greater consumer market.

But where is the Michael Armstrong for WRS? Jerry needs to find someone fast!!!!!!
