I believe that business to business is the wave of the future for ecommerce. I am not sure that document management is necessarily a major part of it. The XML guys, especially XML/EDI, are intent on using tagging of electronic transactions to replace documents altogether. I haven't seen the adopters of these tools employ document management to support the storage and retrieval of the transactions. This stunts the penetration of DCTM into this space, although some companies, notably BMC, are doing some wonderful things with DCTM behind to serve up documents on the Web.

I don't know what Safeway is doing on the web, I was just thinking how much I would like to order grocery delivery on the web to my house and none of the grocery stores I use are national. Maybe netgrocer will grab this market while the Safeways of the world slumber.
