I agree

MSFT, INTC, CSCO, and EMC have been core holdings of mine for many years and I expect them to remain so for the indefinite future. While SUNW, ORCL, CSCO, and EMC are often referred to as the "four horsemen" of the new economy, it is interesting that Mike Reuttgers (EMC CEO) has publicly stated on several occasions that he believes that number is currently only three (EMC, CSCO, and ORCL). My personal view is that there are really only two (EMC and CSCO) which have durable franchise value in this space.

Interestingly while I view both INTC and MSFT as core holdings, I do not consider them to be in the same category as CSCO and EMC in terms of long-term strategic significance. I'm busy watching the 3rd presidential debate right now but will elaborate on this theme in a follow-up post later.
