A fine mess? What did you expect? The mullocracy are fascists and fanatics and they're following the program:

who told a secret meeting of Ansar-e Hizbullah activists about Iran's "locating and spying on 29 sensitive sites in the West, with the aim of bombing them? Our intention is that 6,000 U.S. nuclear warheads will explode in [the U.S.]. We have located the [29] weak points and we have transferred the information about them to the guerilla organizations, and we are acting through them." Abasi added, "We have established a department for Britain as well, and the discussion about bringing about its collapse is on our agenda. We are also operating among the Mexicans, the Argentineans, and all those with a problem with the U.S."

This is nothing new. It's only a more public extension of their long term policy as applied to Israel, and lately, Iraq.

It's past time for the US to crank up the Persian radio and TV station support and for Bush to make speeches supporting the right of Iranians to their democratic freedoms and condemning the tyrannical regime.

(I thought it interesting one of the Iranians found it important to mention the Sunni, Zarqawi, as an impediment to their activities in Iraq because he creates opposition to "martyr" operations by "good" "martyrs", that is, Shiite ones sponsored by Iran. [That's in the second part o fthe post}

I think it's BS.)

Iran is not quite as monstrous a police state as Hussein's Iraq. The mullahs haven't been able to get the folk to either all sing from the same book or shut up. They're trying for a confrontation with the US for the purpose of getting the country to unite behnd them.

It's a complicated scene there with the parallel governments. - mullahs and "reformists" playing good cop/bad cop to both the interior and exterior of the country. The citizens apparently are fed up with both lots who are corrupt bunch of bastards, (particularly the mullahs), looting and pillaging the country.

I'd love to run a radio series on the commercial corruption of the mullahs who use their para-militaries for extortion purposes like, well, just like the Husseins in Iraq. How rich is Khamenei's family these days? How much revenue has the US operation taken from their smuggling business since the Iraqi border was opened to free trade?
