Buddy, that's not to say that I think McCain is not competent or capable.

It's just that at a time like this you need to be trying 20 things at once and I think the President needs to have a hand in all of it.

You kinda need a young "wonkish" guy. I think F.D.R. was like that in 1932. Some things will work and some won't, but if the President isn't right on top of all of it there won't be anybody in authority to referee.
