Spectrum Processing's Board of Directors Elect Ken Spencer as Chair
BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 1998--Spectrum Signal Proc(TSE:SSY. - news; NASDAQ:SSPIF - news) Spectrum Signal Processing Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: SSPIF/TSE: SSY) is pleased to announce the election of Ken Spencer as the new Chair of its Board of Directors.
Dr. Spencer was appointed Director in November 1997 and was promoted to the position of Chair at the Company's Board Meeting in late December. In the short time Ken has been involved with the company, he has been instrumental in assisting management in the development of the 1998 plan and future strategies that will position Spectrum as the leading DSP systems company.
Dr. Spencer brings an understanding of both the industry and the technology with over 25 years of experience in high technology that includes work in several areas that use signal processing technology such as telecommunications and digital pre-press systems. An accomplished entrepreneur, Dr. Spencer founded a successful high tech company which today earns revenues of $140M. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA degree.
