Advanced technology? Packing a 4 digit date into 2 bytes is advanced technology? Don't bet on a patent. First, having a patent on anything doesn't guarantee commercial success. Second, software patents are notoriously difficult to enforce; many are invalidated when challenged. Third, I would strongly suggest retrieving copies of Mr. Chiang's other software-related patents..you're in for a nasty surprise. If the stock goes up on this news, I would consider it an opportunity to add to my position. In the case of Zitel - time is on my side.
