The article is misleading, which is par for the course as far as the mainstream media is concerned.

The AMA knew full well what they were doing when they continued capping med school admissions. This is no "miscalculation." This is more politics than anything else, and the AMA is being rather dishonest by feigning ignorance in the matter.

Besides, it's not hard, for example, to simply import more doctors via immigration, as was the case back in the 70's and early 80's.
