I wasn't interested in reading the entire Satanic Verses but my husband did, and says it's good. So I am not sure why you put Falwell into the same category.

I've never had any stomach for any televangelist, period, but it's not my flavor of Christianity so not mine to say. But as you say, Falwell is put on TV so much that people assume he's mainstream.

Whereas we know he's always good for a controversial opinion that keeps the talk show arguments going. It's like judging blacks by Al Sharpton.

I wish they'd put a sock in his mouth.
