A lot of good ideas. I think we need a unique USA single-payer system, where the govt. covers all healthcare and prescriptions costs for everyone.

Expensive? Yes - but we already pay more than any other country per person. Also - we would ELIMINATE all health insurance paper shuffling. Those people could be employed in more productive activities - that would help a lot toward costs.

And - we pay now anyway. If a poor person is not coverd, and waits - they go to an ER which costs everyone $ 1000.00 for something that a single-payer system could have covered and solved earlier for $ 50.

Penny wise and pound foolish.
