Before you add to the number of suits against IOM, you may want to check some other things which may be the source of your problem. In fact, I don't believe (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that picture quality can degrade as a result of storage media degradation. A problem with your ZIP would result in not being able to read the subject file. This would result in no picture at all. Perhaps the problem is in your display settings. Have you checked the number of colors and refresh rate. Others may have more ideas.
