Yes .. someone that is addicted to alcohol lives in misery. And inflicts damage on everyone around them. It is one of the worst drugs being used in the US today. It is toxic .. deadly. It is responsible for most of the traffic deaths in the US today. Yet, somehow, we as a nation have learned to live with it being legal. We tried to make it illegal and discovered that the cure was worse than the disease itself.
