Very IP centric discussion in the article. Gary, maybe this is because PSINet, being a large ISP, uses a large IP network, made up of mainly RAS/RAC gear (ASND MAX based). They are an access provider, not a backbone provider. This statement from the press release is important: As a part of the company's MultiVoice strategy, Ascend plans to provide interoperability among its voice products, MultiVoice over IP, Frame Relay, and ATM, as well as the ability to integrate MultiVoice into SS7 signalling networks. Sounds to me like ASND is providing the the right solution to the customer.
