Trust nothing and no one. :) But seriously-- When the NYT sits on information that contradicts its politics, when photos are doctored to make partisan points, when we get our idea of truth from Michael Moore or Ann Coulter, how can we be sure of anything? I am reading Robert Baer's latest book which discusses the eviscerating of the CIA in the 90s- the move away from intensively trained field operatives to technology and how the leadership became incompetent because of political rather than experienced appointments to positions. But I am sure that soon I will read how I can't believe a word of it because Baer has some bone to pick, or was bought by, or had his feelings hurt by...and is a crossdresser besides.
