Radicalized Iran is one of Carter's messes. Unfortunately the Shah started the nuclear program and Kennedy, LBJ, and Nixon allowed him to follow the path. When Carter cancelled the annual bribe to keep the Ayatollahs away they returned to make Iran revolting. The islamic radicals invested more heavily in their nuclear weapons program.
