Congratulations on your sons employment with Ascend. He managed to avoid working for a firm locked in a death spiral, a company run (in the past) by people with absolutely no feel for what their customers want nor how to sell to them but who simply are driven by the desire to build cool stuff and impress the geek world; people who should be working in a lab at a university and have no business in the corporate environment; and people who should be ashamed to be selling stock in their absurd excuse for a company. Let's face it. It's not just their marketing that sucks (as old Ed once said). SGI sucks. Since Jan 95, the "tech-laden" (are you sick enough of hearing that stupid phrase?) nasdaq comp has doubled, while this dud stuck has fallen by 2/3. What a loser and we long term investors are all a bunch of losers for buying into it.
