A little more from the Merrill report of 3/13/98: "In our valuation, we used a 10 times multiple of 2006 domestic EBITA and discounting back at a WACC of 14% for $28 per share in domestic value. To this we added approximately $7 per share (or about $2.6 billion) for international, bringing the total to $35 per share.

We're currently not assigning any value to NXTL's interest in Nextband, especially since the auctions are ongoing. As of March 12th, Nextband bid $136.8 million for 48 markets (which includes 26 of the top 50 markets). With six rounds a day, we think that the auctions could conclude by the end of next week. NXTL's view is that the major cities could comprise quite a franchise, especially since the company is already in those cities with interconnect agreements, offices, and salespeople - not to mention high analog SMR towers."
