I really think that MSFT greatest asset is to spot technology and trends and copy them. Nothing wrong with that, in fact, that is how I conduct business. How many developments are truly original. The MAC and Netscapes internet browser come to mind and you could argue they were copied. So basically, everything is evolutionary.

IMO, MSFT did not innovate a damn thing. But thats o.k. and they made a fortune by better execution. Hats off to them. So the argue can be made that real innovative development never took place at MSFT and there was no consequence to development when allen left.

One last comment from the business week article. It stated that bulldog ballmer arrived to present the .net initiative the night before the presentation. You was really diappointed at what he saw but they came on board like hungry lion. Tell me, who in MSFT is overseeing the most important transformation in since Windows if not Ballmer. Gates? If so, should not the bulldog been disappointed in the Chief Architect?

As for stupid comments. If you look at my past posts. I did call for a 20% correction in MSFT stock price about two weeks ago. Maybe I should be on The Street.
