They're also trying to get troublesome right wingers out of the extreme right wing camp. For instance, they want to disown Hitler and claim he was a "socialist". Never mind that once in power, he sent all the socialists to the camps..

I actually don't even thing the current (R) party can claim our first gay president, Abraham Lincoln. He'd be a (D) or an (I) today.
