Thomas, I do see a requirement for conscientious objectors wishing not to fight. That is resisting the draft. They can always be found other things to do.

But that is not where we are at though is it? There is no draft, and non planned yet.

I think the Governments of the USA, UK etc do have a legitimate right not to accept recent events as something to just "deplore". i.e. they should actively do something about it. In fact I'm kinda hoping the "middle of the road" Muslims see things in a similiar light. They personally feel a need to improve things from where they are in the Muslim faith.

There is a view that what the USA, UK etc governments are doing is wrong...for whatever reason. It's my view those people who think that... have not thought things through correctly, and I object to the continual verbal harassment seen on the threads that all the hard work being done is wrong. I'm am not saying they are directing it at me personally, it's just being spread about for no apparent reason imho. Those folk are living in relative peace, provided by previous sacrifice by a number of countries. For example, a remark "Tony Blair is putting his people in the front line". Well... who is supposed to be in the front line? Just American civilians? Or are we supposed to just all lie down and let the OBL's take over ? So I support this thread in getting things out in the open for clear discussion.

I welcome you here to discuss such matters. I'm glad to see some interest in fact.
