AST service providers gain ground in efficiency with real-time parts ordering
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 1997--PC ServiceSource today announced that it will provide real-time, on-line
warranty services to service providers and resellers of AST Computer products. Warranty transactions will be processed
through PC ServiceSource's pc service net, the computer industry's first real-time Internet-based parts processing system.
Through pc service net, AST service providers will be able to file paperless warranty claims and do real-time parts ordering
directly from their desktop via the Internet. AST service providers can also order non-warranty parts through pc service net, a
service that has been available since August 1996.
"With pc service net, AST service providers will reap the benefit of real-time parts ordering by streamlining the time to respond
to customer needs," said AST's Matt Doyle, vice president of service. "Additionally, being able to track the warranty claim
