You are fooling yourself. Much like I did until ~9;30 PM last night. Ryan retained a Congressional District, a conservative district with old demographics. The ticket with Ryan on it lost the state of Wisconsin. Neither Republican National candidate could even deliver his home State. When did that last happen, McGovern? I went to graduate school in Wisconsin. I maintain some ties to the State. The same SDS student radicals of the '60's control the majority of the State & Federal offices in Wisconsin. The recall victory was not a general election or I suspect the results would have been different. Look at the Senate results in Wisconsin for a confirmation of where the State is going. By 2016 the demographics will shift even more. Conservatism is dying a slow death all over America. Politicians will adopt, 2016 will bring two new candidates. Neither will sound very conservative. JMHO, I would bet a single $ that both candidates will be woman. I would not guess the race, creed or sexual orientation or the next candidates-remember 4 are chosen. In closing, clearly $5.4T has been expended (borrowed) to get America where it is. Some would say a very high % was wasted. I would guess the WH will not go their, but privately is confident the borrowing got them 4 more years. Payoffs by the WH for this election and investments by the next DNC planning for 2016 will likely total $7T over the next 4 years. @ $23T in 4 years the new super power, China, along with Japan, Korea & the Mid East will demand austerity from the newest PIG. Going forward, UNITED PIGS. JMHO. Very likely my last SI post. Will be spending time reinvesting in an Obama portfolio & likely filing now for SS rather than wait until I am 70 & see reduced benefits by ~'17 or '18. Five @ current monthly stipend versus one or two, then the parallel decline suffered by a bankrupt Federal Government. Last thought, WH payoffs to include bankrupt states-you name them-plus picking up NY & NJ's tab for Sandy. PS I enjoyed this MB. |
