Bill, here is where all the pro & con stuff is if you don't find it here.... exchange2000.com Saturday I had a Pac Bell "higher up" stop by along with a repair person. He said DSL is coming faster than most people think, AND that every employee is fully aware they are in a very competitive market now. They also did a temp fix which gave me a 50% increase in my connection speed, from 21.4K to 31.2K, they are sending a crew today or tomorrow to replace a short length of cable down the street(1-1/2" 2" dia. pairs?). They indicated I could see even more of an improvement. They also tested for distance to the CO for me...over 31,000 feet in copper. :o( In the past they never cared about anything other than voice...things are changing. I don't really mind if it takes another year or so for me to triple my money....sure beats being short. You read this...didn't you?... exchange2000.com
