It wasn't just Palin supporters aka the Tea Party who stayed home, it was also Ron Paul supporters and also anti-morman voters (which I think is stupid.) I think the fact the turnout was so low is evidence of that. I held my nose and voted the straight repub ticket, just like I've done all my life. But honestly, I haven't liked any of the republican nominees since RR because they have all been RINOs. All except RR, and I loved him. I loved him because he was the true embodiment of conservatism. He talked like one, he acted like one, he said he lead like one, and then low and behold he actually did. I and many others know Mitt Romney is not a true conservative and some of us stayed home.
