Thus huge marketing dollars will be spent educating the market on the importance of the ratio of HDLs to LDLs and thereby increasing the overall size of the market.

I think it would really help patients understand if they were told:

"You want to be high in high-density and low in low-density (lipids)."

"High-density is the 'good cholesterol'" is an arbitrary fact they have to remember in an area of confusing terminology, and easy to forget. This is especially true for the main customers, us geezers.
