IF Obama and crew were honest, and kept the promises made to the Country re: Social Security (since the 1930's FDR) and Medicare (signed 1965 by LBJ), hadn't taken the money from those accounts, and hadn't allowed people to be on SS who had never paid into it, plus ditto on Medicare, it wouldn't be so bad. My generation has by Government decree paid into BOTH funds with the money taken from our checks each payday, and sent to the Federal Government. So I don't consider either of these "entitlements", even though the government does (for propaganda purposes) classify them that way.

IF the current government changes both programs today, for all people 50 and under, then perhaps the promise will be kept for the older folks, and there will be something, or hopefully, new programs available to those under 50....i.e. Mandatory Savings into some safe bank, with receipts both to the future retiree, and to the government so they know the money is actually there.

If there was any reliable private Insurance available before retirement for people 65 or older, most of us who are there, would have made that choice years ago. As it is, we have been forced to Medicare (and supplements) because it is the only insurance available.

Again, MORE government interference on private business.
