Here are my speculations, and you know I'm not good at it.

I think this is in fact the deal between Spinco/TI, not the QClassic/TI. When it is talking about ASIC for all standards, then we should all recall what's the reason for Spinco spinoff. If this TI deal means TI got royality free through x-license, then why we still need Spinco spinoff? Which means not only Q got nothing out of royality, they just add a formidable competitor to its chip business, does that make sense?

To me this release would be very easy to understand if it didn't say covering both companies' patent portfolios. Which two companies? And then it says The companies have agreed to enter into a comparable agreement between TI and Spinco. I mean without the first part I would've already poped a Champion now.

So what is it???
