That's the sad part when the pitch for tech gets advertised as stock recommendations by zealous newsletter advertisers. I've never seen Gilder quoted as saying "buy this stock and get rich", but the implication is there in this environment when he emphasizes the companies' technology, and his portfolio.

If that port improves from here, he'll be successful... If not, he'll be left by the wayside if he doesn't make the distinction between tech and management clear.

Re: broadband - the only reasonable broadband policy isn't subsidy but removing legislative roadblocks to allowing competition.

We've had such a kick in the head the past two years, I'm sure we'll see more careful consideration during capitalization of these ventures.

Personally, I still expect massive growth in bandwidth and in companies in as little as a year. Once the companies that got creamed and bought cheap start generating large cash flows, they'll become popular again.
