You know, I don't disagree that the Qcharts program may have a weak link that I haven't tested. I just wish it could be found so everyone could get productive results all the time.
I do keep my cache at max. As I have said, I haven't deleted temp folder for months nor do I go server hunting, I let Qcharts move me or set my server. I have done small tweaks on communications, MTU and etc., but doubt that is key.
On the chart side, I have all set for a default setting and I keep only one time interval of any one stock. 90% of charts use a 5 min interval with 60 or daily on occassion. I keep no indices, market indicators, level II, Futures, or options open.
I don't know if I will ever check out another ISP, unless I really get to a point where I don't plan on trading that day at all. But I might try it.
The one thing we don't have a handle on is how many have problems and how many don't. There are 5000+ users and I doubt more than 500 read this topic or onelist and less than 100 even post on more than a monthly basis. It would be a good idea for quote.com to survey customers on setups and experiences. I used to wonder if it was a west coast net problem when I noticed the number of complaints, I saw from there. It is hard to generalize without data. Of those Qcharts owners that I have personal contact (35+), the vast majority feel it is best service out there for them with few if any complaints, I know of only one that left Qcharts, she just couldn't keep a connection. |
