"msn is third behind aol and yahoo and trying to move up. will it succeed?"

AOL and Yahoo are profitable. MSN can "move up" all it wants. Perhaps MSFT wants to make up for MSN's deficit in volume?

"what r prospects for windows 2000 and windows me ?"

Prospects? Win2K and WinME are simply the latest incremental upgrade to WinNT and Win95. The prospects are the same as they have been since WinNT and Win95 came out. People buying new computers will buy them with Win2K and WinME. Others will slowly, gradually upgrade.

"what r prospects for .net?"

The prospect for .NET is that MSFT will probably successfully cram it down many people's throats. Nobody will want to upgrade from Office to .NET, but in classic form, MSFT will make Windows just incompatible enough with the legacy Office suite that people will be compelled to upgrade, and then they are at MSFT's mercy.
