Digital Equipment licenses the ARM architecture for use in DEC's StrongARM chip, used in handhelds and other mass-market consumer electronic devices, etc. However, I believe that one of the terms of the DEC-INTC deal is that Intel acquires the manufacturing and other rights to the StrongARM chip. Maybe Intel is catching up in the area of smaller simpler microprocessors after all!
