Looks like the devaluation of the dollar makes sense in this environment of offshoring and outsourcing. Engineers in India work for about 15-20% of what engineers in the US are paid. A devaluation of the dollar would help bring the two numbers closer to parity. If an engineer here gets $5000 and an engineer in India gets INR 75000, then the dollar/INR exchange rate has to be 1:15, rather than the 1:45 or so that we have now.

Of course, devaluation would unleash hyperinflation in the US and cause a lot of misery, but nobody said that our problems can be fixed painlessly (other than the politicians, of course. As for Dumbya, he is worse than the average politician in that he claims that there is no problem!)
