Perry, Not sure about exact earnings release date; possibly Ocober 15. Here's a comment on earnings from yesterday's "Mac OS Rumors," macosrumors.com: "...Apple to post Fourth Quarter results soon....US results "better than expected" "Several reliable sources have reported to Rumors that in preparing Apple Computer's Fourth Quarter financial results, accountants are finding that the outlook is better than expected; thus far, the numbers appear to be showing something between a very small loss (50 million or less) and a very small profit ( 10 million or less). To coincide with the financial results, Apple plans to announce its reorganization, with some Research and Development areas seeing cuts and layoffs, although the expectation is that this will be on a reasonably small scale relative to the layoffs earlier this year. "Word from Apple Japan is that their financial results aren't as good as expected, but few details were available as of the time of this post." ###### ###### I have no way of knowing how valid these rumors are. More to the point, I don't know whether they factor in the Power Computing acquisition which Apple reportedly plans to write off this quarter. Probably not. Anyway, I called Apple a couple of days ago and they're not talking; "quiet period" and all that. As far as buy/sell/hold on AAPL; your call. Good luck. Bob P.S. I'm holding.
