Robert,
totally disagree with you. If you were a major OEM in 1Q97, would
you consider investing in either cyrx or AMD given:

1). there is the risk consumers might not want these chips & want the
"pentium" name.
2). there is the risk that they will not have manufact. capacity
to meet demand.
3). these co. are in some financial trouble
4). there is the risk with quality of these chips as well
5). cyrx/amd track records have been poor, eratic, etc.

What's the upside for the OEM? they may save a little bit of money
and might have a little bit of perf. advantage.

IMHO, just way too much risk for a major OEM to jump the intc ship.
I think the OEMs will try to differentiate themselves in other ways,
but I don't think boasting a cyrx or AMD chip will benefit the OEM.

I do see AMD possibly taking away Tier 2 accounts from cyrx, but INTC
margins will not be hurt in 1997. The only way INTC will be
threatened is when AMD and CYRX can prove they can produce a
high quality prdt. on time, in sufficient quantities, etc. This
wont be in 1997, believe me.
