A rational voting group would have thrown the rascals out. There's a reason why many of the founding fathers, particularly Jefferson, wanted land ownership as a pre-requisite for suffrage. Unfortunately, he lost and the Federalists won on that point. Under the current system, one group can vote themselves another group's property, which is not only unfair, but would never occur if only property owners were voting. As the recent election's results show, the party favored by the takers won and will continue to win going forward, as long as the money continues to be redistributed.
