Steve: Good points! Actually, in the UK MSFT as an IP feeds us a number of search engines but not AV. (I know that is about to change). Invariably, whenever I search for something - I finish up going to AV because the others fail me. I find it superior, all the time. I have searched family genealogy, academic and public policy papers, news - including local regional news in the uk - and it is the only engine that turns up all my own publications. Actually, it turned up my name on a few occasions on pages where I had no apparent relevance. But when I dug deep I found that my name had been cited in footnotes or biliography by the author being featured on the web site.

I worry about AV as a viable entity. It requires a leap of faith along the lines that CPQ has made such bold claims that it must succeed. And to be fair, EP has always met his stated goals. (Luckily for him, he has never set a price target for CPQ shares).
