Wolfowitz is attacked because he is the author of the "Wolfowitz Doctrine." He is a primary promoter, if not THE primary promoter, of the doctrine of preemption.

Actually, Dick Cheney gets attacked a lot, too, for the same reasons, and when was the last time you heard of a Vice President catching so much heat for his ideas? Usually they lay low.
