Those are some pretty big numbers you're throwing around. I was under the impression that Iomega and Syquest compete head to head in the removable drive market--wee as Syquest's share may be. Considering the difference in sales between Iomega and Syquest is an order of magnitude of 10, as you so graciously point out, I think you will concede Syquest is the clear underdog?
However, I don't believe focusing on Iomega's big numbers is where attention should be placed. I submit, considering the present situation, it will be easier for Syquest to increase sales 25% than it will be for Iomega. And that my friend, is why my money is on Syquest and not Iomega. And it is why I claim Syquest will chip away at Iomega's market share regardless how meager the gain.
BTW, IMHO, short SYQT now and you will loose your shorts at the beach. Which is a beach itself! I like bears, especially when they are in zoos. |
