I didn't miss it. I believe he was afraid to go to Afghanistan.
This is bullshit. Nobody who is in a position to know has said anything LIKE this.
He didn't want to go because he, as a Muslim, didn't want to fight in a war he was opposed to. That simple.
It costs tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars to put a soldier through training. In this case, because he received medical training in addition, it was even more. Maybe a million dollars or more.
You don't just get to walk away from it because of the war we happen to be engaged in. It doesn't work that way, the sorry bastard KNEW it didn't work that way, so that's that.
If you were an American, you would understand. Being an America-hater, and a member of the blame-America-first-and-often crown, you think there is justification for his actions. There isn't. He should be tried, convicted, and put to death. Next week, if possible.
That when he became a shrink he thought he was going to be at Walter Reed for the rest of his tour of duty. When he was demoted, it came as a shock to him. I also think he wanted out of the army. That's fairly common theme among medical army people........the army pays for your education and then they want to be on the outside where the lucrative payroll is. That type of thinking happens to army medical personnel whether they are Christian, Buddhist, agnostic, atheist or Muslim. Now if there is anything to the allegation that he was in contact with al Qaida, then its a different story.
