Joe, are you considering this machine in Apple's 'big picture?' I don't know where you shop for Macs, but even the educational pricing at my university has not come close (ever) to offering a 233Mhz, 32MB, 4G, 24X machine for anywhere NEAR $1,500. If, somehow, you get a chance to go and see a demo of this machine, take it. I know it's not exactly popular on these lists to actually have familiarity with the products made by the companies we're trading, but if you've ever used a computer other than the Mac I think the 7700 demo will do you a world of good.
Maybe not insanely great. Hell, maybe not even great. But a step in the right direction? I think so. And if they can actually fill all the orders for this machine in a timely manner, that's going to go a long way toward boosting this company's prospects. Anyone that's really interested in figuring out how this company is going to perform in the next 12 months had better follow the release of these machines very closely.
