"Dotcom 2000 Inc. - Significant A/V 3.0 Software Agreement Toronto, Ontario Dotcom 2000 Inc. (``Dotcom'') (CDNX: YDC) announced today that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Sphynx International Limited (``Sphynx'') to license its AV 3.0 video/audio streaming software for a term of 5 years. Dotcom will receive USD 300,000 in licensing fees plus royalties comprised of 6% of the revenue generated by Sphinx's Internet operations, to be paid to Dotcom on a monthly basis throughout the term of the agreement.
William Robinson, President and CEO of Dotcom, says, `` Our deal with Sphynx represents a significant milestone for Dotcom. The recent incorporation of certain AVSS technologies into A/V 3.0 software, has resulted in larger screen sizes and faster frame rates, we believe that these improvements provide our software with significant competitive advantages in the marketplace. This deal with Sphynx came as a direct result of these A/V 3.0 upgrades. It is our belief that the upgraded A/V 3.0 software will now attract a much larger group of customers to Dotcom resulting in more sales, revenue and earnings for our shareholders''.
Dwayne Cole, a Director of Sphynx International Limited states, ``After a thorough evaluation of all audio/video streaming technologies available, we have chosen Dotcom's A/V 3.0 software. A/V 3.0 was the only audio/video streaming software available that could satisfy our requirements of reliability, scalability and satisfaction of our customers needs for a more life-like audio and video multimedia experience. Based on our assessment of the competitive environment, the strength of Dotcom's A/V 3.0 software and our experience and success in our land-based business, we expect to be the leader in our field for this application. We are forecasting first year revenues of USD 12.0 million from our Internet operations''.
The licensing agreement will call for the delivery of the customized A/V 3.0 application on or before May 15th 2002. The initial payment of USD 200,000 is due upon delivery and an additional payment of USD 100,000 is due six months after delivery. Dotcom has signed a non-disclosure agreement relative to the unique customer application for A/V 3.0.and has agreed not to license A/V 3.0 software to any of Sphinx's online competitors.
``The A/V 3.0 licensing agreement with Sphynx will generate significant ongoing monthly revenues for Dotcom'', reports Bill Robinson. ``This deal provides a springboard for the upcoming launch of our sales and marketing campaign for A/V 3.0 software. We expect to generate significant licensing revenues and net income from A/V 3.0 software over the next 12 months''.
