Whatever. But what is happening in Waziristan, anyway? Are the Pakistanis pushing in the tribal regions, and might a rabbit be de-hatted, as it were?

A few recent highlights:

Sept. 19: <font color=green>Pakistan troops attack foreign militants in Waziristan

Pakistani troops have hemmed in Al-Qaeda-linked foreign fighters and their local allies hiding in tribal border regions with a series of military assaults.

A top Pakistani general says troops have eliminated a number of terrorists' hideouts in the region and their operational space has been reduced.

Sept. 24: <font color=green>2 soldiers and militant killed in Waziristan

* Militants may release captive soldier today, want media presence at handover ceremony

* Unidentified attackers fire three rockets at Wana Scouts camp

WANA: <font color=green>Two personnel of security forces and a suspected militant were killed in fresh clashes in Caravan Munzah in Southern Waziristan late Sunday night, an eyewitness said.

PESHAWAR: <font color=green>A senior government official and a retired army colonel returned from the talks with militants at an undisclosed location in South Waziristan Agency on Thursday and they will likely release details of their negotiations to the media in Wana today (Friday).
