There is Gold in Them Thar hills!?

By Adrian Douglas

As most café members will know I usually concentrate my efforts on discussing market forces, economics and technical/fundamental analysis of the gold market. This essay is a departure from that because I stumbled across a mining company that may be of interest to café members.

A friend of mine recommended this stock to me when his sister-in-law had discovered it in looking to research a stock to present to her investment club. I was surprised to find that this stock is one of the highest volume trading shares on the pink sheets trading over 30 million shares a day. It is trading at only $0.004 per share.

The next surprise was when I looked into the fundamental story behind this company. The company is Nevada Mining Company (NMCX.PK). The company has 7 mining properties. One is in Skull Valley in Arizona. This property has accumulated tailings on it from many years of gold mining in the area. Years ago miners were looking for nuggets of gold and so dirt with high concentration of ore in it was discarded and accumulated. There are even more tailings on their properties in California and Nevada.

Last year the company sold 26% of the Skull Valley accumulated ore "as is" for $500 million over 10 years to a private entity with an initial up front payment of $700,000.

The company has apparently had independent assays done on the tailings. The company has been working with the SEC to obtain official financial audits. During this time they are not allowed to promote their stock so their website is not operating as a result the original assay reports can not be viewed. However, the following web-page gives a summary of what the assay reports indicate and it uses that to calculate the value of their accumulated ore

The value indicated of their properties is a staggering $18.5 Billion. Yes, that is billion.

Apparently the amount of stock issued is around 2.5 billion. This would value the company at $10 million. If the valuation of their ore is correct the stock price should be closer to $5 than where it currently trades at $0.004.

It is not possible to get information from the company until the SEC has finished its audit. If these assays and valuations are approved in the financial audits then this company is certainly the quintessential bargain.

Clearly trading on the pink sheet shares can be fraught with danger and there are many companies that are not what they seem but this one has certainly caught my eye.

Today I called the CEO Michael Sheppard. He was unable to give me information that could be construed as promotional because of the restrictions of the SEC audit. He did agree to give me an interview once the audits were out of the way as he says it’s a very exciting story. This might be around June 2006.

In the interests of full disclosure I have recently purchased shares in this company.

If other café members are interested in this company they purchase at their own risk. While I have taken steps to verify the veracity of what has been presented I do not warrant the correctness of the information.

Foot-Note

Some café members have done some searching on the web about Nevada Mining Company and have found links about a lawsuit that was filed against it when the company was previously known as HCCA.

I called the CEO, Michael Sheppard about this. He told me that the suit was settled in FAVOR of the defendants for $5 million. He says there is no pending litigation outstanding against the company. He says that the audit being conducted by the SEC is because the company is in the process of filing to move from the Pink-sheets to the bulletin board. He has deliberately taken down their web-site at this time (it was NOT at the request of the SEC). He says they have a great story to tell and he has promised to give me an interview once their filing process has been completed so that I can write further on them.

As I said in my article dealing in companies on the pink-sheets or even the bulletin board carries much more risk than dealing in the well established stock exchange names. I consider this stock very speculative and anyone considering an investment should be aware it is high risk. I have verified the information I have given you with the CEO himself.

I am not associated with company in anyway including financially except that I have bought shares in the company.
