After reviewing some literature, I think you may be right, and I was too categorical in the first place. I still haven't found a really good, even- handed link, but it looks like competitive economies are possible without corporate ownership, although it is still the case that it is helpful for smaller farmers to band together in coops, and it still appears to me that factory farming is the most productive...I will probably look further, though....
