Novell's Volera spinoff

If it happens it should happen imminently. this would create a focused internet infrastructure company with a series of pipe products like a reverse proxy cache low cost appliance that has the potential to sit in front of every web server, as well as content filtering, redirection, encryption, and file management software. Volera already has a number of contracts with Global Center, Exodus, Mirror Image, and Akamai. It also has the best brains of Novell in the form of Drew Major.

It lacks a seasoned CEO from the telecosm but with outside investors owning as much as 20%, it's unlikely to be "held back" any longer by the legacy nature of Novell's business.

I see NOVL as a very interesting play and Volera as a potential M&A candidate. Lots of great technology in Volera plus 25% growth Q to Q and enough cash for at least a years operation. Deals with all the major data center players.

This could make NOVL fly.
