I don't think we have a choice about withdrawal. Where are the troops, the public support, the money and the equipment going to come from for a decade-long stay at these levels? The longer we stay in this rut, the narrower our range of options becomes.

Is Bush really going to institute a draft and drop the tax cuts for himself and his ultrawealthy friends in order to maintain troops levels in Iraq?

Not very dang likely.
