Take that article and watch it get spun some more.

A Gilded Rage
11/15/00 9:00 AM ET

Everybody in the biz is buzzing about a comment that James Crowe, the very respected CEO of Level 3 Communications (LVLT:Nasdaq), said about George Gilder at a conference yestrerday. Crowe basically called Gilder a corrupt hack. He insinsuated that you had to pay off Gilder to get Gilder's approval to be on the guru's buy list. This angry comment came right after Gilder spoke negatively about Level 3. "I would challenge him to disclose the fees he's paid by the companies in his picks and pans," the wires quote Crowe as saying.

Understand that this charge is a direct violation of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934. It is the type of thing that the SEC would open an investigation on in a heartbeat. I can't believe the big media guns haven't picked up on this one yet. Wow!!!!!!

I didn't see the words a "corrupt hack" in the article you posted so this is a leap to use damaging words like this. It will be interesting to watch this development.
