From Briefing.com: S&P futures vs fair value: +4.2. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +5.0. The pre-market tone is still firmer but the indicators are off their best level of the morning. No major market calls thus far with INTC (-0.9%) hit by additional estimate cuts. Retail will be of interest today and tomorrow as comparables are reported with homebuilding also potentially in play following HOV earnings. The dollar has improved and European action is modestly higher. CREE Cree upgraded at UBS (12.51) UBS Warburg upgrades to HOLD from Reduce based on valuation as well as checks indicating healthy unit volume sales in coming qtrs; price target is $12. 7:35AM S&P futures vs fair value: +5.0. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +7.0. : U.S. equity futures fending off more estimate cuts on Intel and further deterioration in Japanese banks that sends the Nikkei down another 1.5%. Intel indicated 2% lower, which would place the stk at a new 52-wk low and suggests that the SOX will go to a new low as well. European indices lifted by stronger-than-expected purchasing-managers data from the UK (Germany +0.6%, UK +0.2%). 7:12AM LSI Logic reaffirms Q3 guidance (LSI) 6.96: Confirms that it expects to meet Q3 revenue guidance of about 10% sequential growth. LSI expects to post a pro forma net loss of approx. $0.02 (Multex consensus -$0.02).
